Ashtanga yoga is the vinyasa process as created by K Pattabhi Jois. The Primary Series is called yoga chikitas, meaning yoga therapy, because of the cleaning and toning effectit has on the body and mind. Come to learn more about this eight-limb process of traditional yoga using method of synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of 41 asanas, and the use of drishti. These 3 elements being used together form the trinity of yoga in Sanskit called the tristhana.

A slow moving workshop style class that pays special attention to the proper alignment of each asana, its modifications and transitions. The workshop will move methodically over the most commonly used poses from sun salutations, strengthening, balancing, hip-opening, back bending, and cooling. This learning experience will be open level and an open environment for questions and interaction. This is for anyone to attend an advanced practitioner to the person who is attending day one. If you have ever wondered if your hips are open in warrior 2 properly, or if your foot should be pointed or flexed in a seated forward fold. Many times cues are missed in a fast moving vinyasa class and can be easily blended into dim lighting and music. This workshop will allow everyone a one-on-one guided experience in the convenience of the group setting.
